Teta Sandra, a woman well-known in media and entertainment circles across the region, has been released by Ugandan security authorities after being arrested on suspicion of deliberately hitting her husband with a vehicle in what appeared to be a malicious act.
She was taken into custody by the Uganda Police on the evening of August 6, 2025, following an alleged intentional hit-and-run incident involving her husband, popularly known as Weasel. The incident reportedly occurred in the Munyonyo area, near a bar called Chans.
Eyewitnesses informed the police that Sandra hit her husband with the car multiple times—up to three times—causing serious injuries to his legs. He is currently receiving treatment at Nsambya Hospital in Kampala.
After spending several hours detained at Kabalagala Police Station, reliable sources close to Teta Sandra confirmed her release. According to these sources, the decision came after Weasel himself, along with members of his family, requested her release, expressing a desire to resolve the matter privately and amicably.
Although no official reason was publicly given for the family’s request to have Sandra released, it is believed they opted for a reconciliatory path rather than pursuing formal legal action.
The Uganda Police have not issued any formal statement confirming her release or whether any legal proceedings will continue.
This development follows widespread reports that the couple’s relationship had been on the rocks for some time, with tensions and domestic disputes believed to have contributed to the tragic incident, which some have described as more than just an accident.
We will continue to follow this story and provide updates, especially regarding whether any charges will be filed or if the matter will be entirely resolved through peaceful conflict resolution.
