CANAL+ Rwanda, the leading pay-TV company, has delighted movie and entertainment lovers by integrating Netflix content into its subscription packages. This means subscribers can now access popular Netflix films and series directly through their CANAL+ service.
The new offer, branded “IKIRENGA,” was launched to bridge international and African entertainment content. It includes a wide array of films and shows from Netflix, one of the world’s largest streaming platforms. This development follows a partnership announced in June 2025 between CANAL+ and Netflix, officially unveiled in Rwanda this July.
With this initiative, CANAL+ has become the first company in Sub-Saharan Africa to formally distribute Netflix services. In Rwanda, the new package is available for Rwf 35,000.
The subscription boasts over 400 channels, including radio, TV, and various news sources. It features all CANAL+ channels, DStv English Plus with four SuperSport channels, and complete access to Netflix’s catalog. Subscribers can enjoy global hits such as Stranger Things, Squid Game, Emily in Paris, as well as popular African titles like Blood & Water and Kings of Joburg.
Customers can explore over 50,000 programs via the CANAL+ app or decoder, offering unmatched convenience.
Aziz Diallo, CANAL+ Africa Director for the French-speaking division, highlighted that this move meets the evolving desires of African audiences.
“Our customers want access to content from both Africa and around the world, all in one place. Now, we’ve made that a reality,” he said.
Since the rollout, many Rwandan customers have expressed their excitement on social media. One Facebook user wrote, “Finally, a single subscription with everything.” Another commented, “No more switching between programs and apps, everything is on the CANAL+ decoder.”
Some praised the value for money, with a user on X (formerly Twitter) posting, “For Rwf 35,000, you get Netflix, sports channels, movies… nowhere else offers that.”
